As one of the world’s largest exporters of Coconut Milk Powder, we work with a number of mills to purchase coconut from over 8,000 farmers. In 2021, we paid out LKR 6 billion to the local coconut industry for the procurement of over million fresh coconut. We also launched the Nestlé Coconut Plan in 2016 in collaboration with the Coconut Cultivation Board of Sri Lanka. This initiative, which supports 4,000 home-growers today, offers its participants free hybrid coconut plantlets and technical assistance. It has also established six model farms to help farmers benchmark best practice, latest of which focuses on organic farming methods.
