Nestlé: Our Story

As the world’s largest food & beverage company, Nestlé is world renowned for producing high quality products maintaining stringent quality controls and conforming to exceptional safety standards.

We have combined our global expertise in product development and decades of experience in spray drying technology, to launch Nestlé Premium Coconut Milk Powder back in the year 1986.

Good For Our Community

We are uplifting Sri Lankan communities by supporting livelihoods of local farmers, empowering youth and fostering diversity and inclusion across our value chain.

Being one of the largest exporters of Coconut Milk Powder, we support over 8,000 local, medium and large-scale coconut farmers through the procurement of fresh coconuts. In addition, we offer free hybrid coconut plantlets and technical assistance to encourage coconut cultivation among 4,000 rural farmers and home- growers through our Nestlé Coconut Plan.

Good For Our Family

For over 115 years, we have offered our Sri Lankan consumers healthy and tasty products which cater to local nutritional needs. We constantly strive to reduce public health sensitive nutrients like sugars and fat from our products and add more positive ingredients like whole grains, fruits vegetables, and spices. We also fortify where relevant with micronutrients deficient in the local diet such as iron, vitamin and zinc. In 2021, we provided 935 million servings of micronutrients fortified products to our consumers.

We have committed to reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by 2025, 50% by 2030, and achieving net zero emissions across the value chain by 2050. We’re proud to say that, while increasing our production volumes, we have been consistently minimizing harmful emissions and our use of natural resources. Last year, we also committed to a journey toward regeneration; to help protect, renew, and restore food systems at scale. Towards this end, we are closely working with all our stakeholders across the value chain, to support them in adopting more sustainable practices from farm to end-of-shelf life of our products.
